I consider my work offerings of dedication to a higher power. The utilization of spirituality in art is the entire basis of my body of work. I do not try tell anyone what spirituality means; instead, the objective is to allow others to view my direct experience with the divine
My work has gone in a way that is similar to a fork in a highway. The path I've directed myself in is toward clear and rapid ways of expressing my communication to the spirits and God. The means of which I do this is by writing down what I am thinking during a meditation; it could even be considered a prayer. Then I turn the page, abstract the letters, and put a transparency over top of the paper and drip acrylic paint to further abstract the letters so it will never be able to be legible. Then I use a projector to enlarge the shapes from the transparency onto paper.
The result has an underlying vibration of energy commanding one's attention. Language can act as a spiritual unification between people and spirits alike, and this process helps to successfully convey my direct monologue with God through the use of repetitive routine.
